FCCLA is a nonprofit national career and technology student organization for young men and women in family and consumer sciences education in public and private school, grades 7 -12.

FCCLA has been a part of Sweetwater High School since 1948, when the first chapter was organized as Future Homemakers of America.

In 2007-08 we had 35 members that received many opportunities for personal growth and leadership development through activities in Family and Consumer Science classes and community service activities.

Activities the Sweetwater High School FCCLA participated in included:

STAR Event
Three of our members entered projects in the STAR Event competitions---Regional meeting at Wichita Falls, State meeting at Galveston. All three members placed in the top six at regional qualifying them for the state meeting. The STOP the Violence team placed fourth at the State meeting.
